I duża niespodzianka, lagerpeton był bardzo ważnym zwierzęciem w dyskusji nad początkami dinozaurów i pterozaurów. Niestety nasza wiedza o nim ograniczała się tylko do tylnej części szkieletu. Właśnie opisano nowy okaz lagerpetona, która zawiera elementy ręki!
