Stwierdzili też że "Compared to the
73 mm-thick preorbital facet, the preserved postorbital facet of MPM
2594 is relatively slender, being a horizontally oriented rectangle
about 18 mm-deep along its length anterior to the level of the
supratemporal fossa (Fig. 1C). The comparably-sized frontal of the
holotype of Giganotosaurus carolinii has a 67.5 mm thick preorbital
facet (93% the size of the same facet in MPM 2594) and a 40 mm thick
posterior half of the postorbital facet (222% the size of the preserved
facet in MPM 2594)"
Tak wspomina o nim Mortimer:
"Ibrahim et al. (2020) propose Sauroniops is an immature Carcharodontosaurus saharicus, but this is based on misconceptions. First, they state it is "approximately 60% the size of the frontal in the original holotype and neotype of C. saharicus" based on the length posterior to the lateral nasal contact, but the width (~135 mm) is actually greater than the Carcharodontosaurus neotype (~124 mm). This shows it is not a smaller specimen and the broadeer proportions are more like Eocarcharia. "
Jeśli porównać z
Eocarcharia frontal był blisko 2x większy
A tutaj kontra Cau odnośnie pracy Ibrahima (2020)
